Can’t believe this is only my first post of the month! I’ve been busy helping my hubby with some of his site’s blog and work has been pretty hectic. We are doing a Halloween themed info session at my job, though I usually do not work on Thursdays, I will on that day. Costume wise, I hardly ever dressed up. My mom even took me to the dentist one Halloween, and I couldn’t have any candy!
This month is my favourite because the weather cools down slightly, the trees turn gorgeous shades of orange and gold, and Halloween, the holiday for candy lovers occurs. My costume this year is inspired by the lovely, morbid lady below:

I got really brave and decided that I will attempt to sew the costume. It’s almost the middle of October and I am still debating which fabric to use, what should I do about my hair, etc. I like both versions of Morticia, Carolyn Jones in the television series of the 1960s and Anjelica Huston in The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel (1993). The above costume is the original costume that Anjelica Huston wore in the films. The lovely make up done by Emma P. also truly captures Anjelica deathly beauty.
For the costume, I found this great youtube tutorial on how to make the costume! It looks so simple, I think I can do it in one sit in. I’ll have to borrow my mom’s sewing machine and some other bits.
I have plenty of red lipsticks to choose from, and have some great eyeshadow pallets where I can pick and mix. As for her ghostly pale skin, I will definitely need some help from a very light foundation, as well as some super eyelashes. I will definitely be referring to Emma P.’s video for tips! Speaking of tips, my nails are super long, I’ll just match a red lippy to the polish, get some of my lovely silver jewelry on, and hopefully pull this classic vamp look off.
Oh and I wanted to mention, hubby is going to be Gomez! Hopefully we will go to the Manhattan Halloween parade, I’ll be sure to grab some pictures!
Is anyone else dressing up for Halloween? I’d love to hear about the costumes!
